1000 Chinese Canadian Heroes
Our list of "Golden Mountain Heroes and Chinese Canadians of Outstanding Merit"
What follows is a list of names that have been compiled from submissions by Canadians from all areas of Canada. Chinese Canadians have contributed to Canada from "ocean to ocean" and from "sea to sea" of our great Country. We need YOUR help to submit names and bios (with verifiable sources).
At the suggestion of our readers, we have divided our list to Chinese Canadian Heroes and a Chinese Canadian Merit List. It was suggested that we should recognize heroism in a more classic sense rather that the "folksy" sense. We think that this is a good idea, because we truly have some outstanding heroes in our midst.
We cannot say that the combined lists will reach 1000 or exceed 1000; however, if every city in Canada told us about their heroes and people who merit mention, 1000 spots would probably not be enough. Let's see how many we can get onto this list! Submit your names and brief histories today for each of your named submissions. If your name makes it onto the list, they (your submission) will become a "Golden Mountain Hero" or "Merit List".
For the Merit List, we wish to list as many submitted names of notable Chinese Canadians, whether living in Canada or abroad. Let's see if you know who they are and what makes them notable.
If you are so inspired, and we hope you will be, you can nominate as many of them as you wish for any of the Golden Mountain Achievement Award categories. Remember every nominator on every nomination is entered to win tickets to the stage production "150 Years In Golden Mountain, A Celebration Pageant". You can also vote for them for the People's Choice Award (online only).
