Kick-off of Chinese Canadian Heritage Days

The Victoria Chinese Commerce Association and the 150 Years In Golden Mountain Celebration Committee invite you to join us in kicking-off Chinese Canadian Heritage Days.

On May 26, 2008, the Province of British Columbia proclaimed August 3 to 10, 2008 as the official days to celebrate the achievements and contributions of Chinese Canadians.

This proclamation has also been made by the following local municipalilties:

  • The City of Victoria
  • The District of Saanich
  • The District of Oak Bay
  • The Township of Esquimalt
  • The District of Central Saanich
  • The Town of Sidney
  • The Town of View Royal
  • The Town of Port Alberni
  • The District of Sooke
  • The District of North Saanich
  • The Town of Ladysmith
  • The City of Langford

On August 3, 2008, the first day of Chinese Canadian Heritage Days, we will present the official opening of the heritage days with a cultural performance and with luck, we will also feature some local youth performing new genres of music to delight our audiences. The program is still being developed, but look forward to some exciting entertainment.
