BC150, the VCCA and the 150 Years in Golden Mountain Celebration Committee are hosting the exciting "Arouse Your Senses" Media Launch. Arouse your senses BY tasting an assortment of congee, hearing a special proclamation and seeing a tantalizing teaser of the "150 Years In Golden Mountain, A Celebration Pageant".

Congee Tasting Event

Congee - a type of rice porridge eaten primarily as a breakfast food or late supper. An assortment of congee will be provided for tasting - pork, century eggs, fish, etc.

Proclamation

Various municipalities on Vancouver Island have officially proclaimed the week of August 3-10 as Chinese Canadian Heritage Days in honour of 150 years of Chinese Canadian achievements.
