About the VCCA

The Victoria Chinese Commerce Association (VCCA) was first formed in 1991 by a group Chinese business and community leaders to provide a business platform for those doing business locally, provincially, federally, and internationally with Chinese entrepreneurs. Its inaugural members include the Honourable Ida Chong, Cabinet Minister (MLA - BC) and His Worship Mayor Alan Lowe (City of Victoria). We are very proud to note that its original honorary Chairman was the former Lieutenant-Governor of BC, the Honourable Dr. David Lam. After 16 years, it boasts members of all cultures and businesses, and meets regularly to advance its goals.

VCCA is a not-for-profit organization. In addition to its business related mandates, it also promotes Chinese traditions and culture, and encourages and assists educational and charitable activities within the community. The 150 Years In Golden Mountain Celebrations committee and VCCA feels it is their privilege and duty to honour and showcase achievements by Chinese Canadian citizens over the past 150 years.
